MAPPED! an introductory workshop

Sustainable Cities is pleased to provide communities and organizations this introductory workshop to asset mapping. Asset mapping is a creative way to engage community members, particularly young people, in identifying the assets and resources in their community. Through physical mapping exercises, youth identify the places, resources, and facilities within their community that are of importance to them. They also examine the gaps, identifying what services are needed and where they can build on existing strengths in their community.

Many of our projects have successfully used asset mapping to strenghten the sustainability of community planning. Please see the brochure below for more information.

ASSET MAPPING & VISIONING

We can provide tools to engage young people in developing a vision for your community, organization or company. We are available to facilitate workshops, assist in developing and facilitating youth engagement processes and action plan with youth. We are also experienced in training local youth engagement coordinators to work with you on projects. We run asset mapping workshops to identify individual, community and organizational assets. We are available to help develop and produce Youth Friendly Community Guides.

YOUTH STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

We can help you develop a project and plan to create a youth engagement strategy for your community or organization. We facilitate workshops to help youth develop their own youth strategy and provide guidance to organizations and cities to assure that youth strategies are comprehensive. We can work with you from start to finish on the planning, development and delivery of your youth strategy.

We run a variety of workshops and facilitate events for youth, schools, cities, educators, youth workers, businesses and other community organizations. Our topics include future visioning, Sustainability 101, Action Planning, Asset Mapping and Tools for Change.
